5 things that you can do while you wait for Android’s XML DOM parser to finish
By Bobby Gill on May 1, 2011 / 1 Comment
In my time on Android, I’ve come to relish those precious many minutes that go by while the Android XML DOM parser chews on on the massive 5KB documents I am returning from my web service. When else would I find the time to catch up on reading the Personal Journal? I know my taxes definitely wouldn’t have gotten done if I didn’t have all that free time.
So, as a service to the rest of you, while you wait for your XML to be parsed, here are just a few things that you can do to occupy yourself:
5.) Watch Lawrence of Arabia. The extended director’s cut edition. (they show the full 40 minute introduction of the dude riding the camel through the desert)
4.) Complete the great American novel.
3.) Search for, and read, every forum thread returned by Google for XML Serializer performance .NET
2.) Come up with a 95% CI estimate on the identity of Mini-Microsoft (based on a comment by comment analysis of posting time, and sentence structure analysis correlated to major Microsoft news and/or Seattle weather events)
1.) Derive an estimate for the potential gains one could have had if they had only received their Microsoft restricted stock units in the form of equity in any of the other 499 Fortune 500 companies.
