Sales & Marketing Director

Blue Label Labs, a leading New York-based mobile app design, development and marketing agency, is looking for a talented individual to join the team in the role of a Sales & Marketing Director. Blue Label Labs is an industry leader in designing and developing custom mobile apps with over 150 apps in its portfolio and a wide-range of capabilities that has seen us create products that span health and wellness, on-demand marketplaces, mobile gaming, IoT and VR/AR.

As a Sales & Marketing Director you will be responsible for finding and nurturing relationships with partners and potential clients. This role will be a mix of outbound sales efforts via email campaigns and events, as well as inbound sales efforts via content marketing and social media management.

The day-to-day responsibilities of a the Sales & Marketing Director at Blue Label Labs include:

  • Conduct outbound sales activity, content marketing and social media marketing.
  • Manage outbound email campaigns to target markets.
  • Oversee the drafting of statements of work by Blue Label Labs’ Technical Solutions Architect.
  • Identify and track events worth attending, speaking at, sponsoring or hosting.
  • Manage editorial calendar for the Blue Label Labs’ blog and 3rd party blogs.
  • Determine appropriate 3rd party blogs and coordinate posting.
  • Oversee the authoring of blog posts.
  • Create and nurture relationships with 3rd party business referring partners–e.g., other dev shops and full-service digital agencies.
  • Draft monthly newsletters to target partners and potential clients.
  • Determine other channels/methods to grow outbound sales pipeline.
  • Draft monthly newsletters to target partners and potential clients.
  • Will report to the Head of Business Development.

We are looking for a detail-oriented Sales & Marketing Director that has a passion for sales along with the following:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Established track record and out-performance in the sale of digital products or services working alongside distributed/remote teams.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar sales role
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own work streams.
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g., Trello); sales tools (e.g., SalesForce); marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp); web platforms (e.g., WordPress) and social media sites (e.g., LinkedIn).

The compensation and benefits are as follows:

  • Full-time, W-2 employment position.
  • Compensation will consist of roughly 50% base salary and 50% commission and performance-based bonuses–commensurate with experience.
  • Work from home/remote work opportunities–SoHo NYC office for those who prefer to work in an office environment; candidate must be NYC-based or willing to relocate

Enterprise Sales Director

As an Enterprise Sales Director you will be responsible for finding and nurturing relationships with potential big brand clients/enterprises (i.e., $50M+ annual revenue companies). This role will an outbound sales effort supported by existing and new marketing efforts (performed by other, pre-existing team members), email campaigns and other outbound techniques.

The day-to-day responsibilities of a the Enterprise Sales Director at Blue Label Labs include:

  • Conduct all outbound sales activity to Enterprises.
  • Manage outbound email campaigns to target markets.
  • Coordinate with marketing team to oversee execution of co-developed marketing strategies.

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar sales role
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own work streams.
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g., Trello); sales tools (e.g., SalesForce); marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp); web platforms (e.g., WordPress) and social media sites (e.g., LinkedIn).
  • A “rolodex” of potential client targets that fit the $50M+ in annual revenues qualification.
  • A “nice to have” (but not a requirement) would be sales experience or specialization in the health and wellness space–i.e., hospital systems, health insurance companies and healthcare technology companies

Freelance Writer

Blue Label Labs is looking for freelance writers to contribute articles on a semi-weekly basis for our Idea to Appster online magazine. Launched in October of 2012, IdeaToAppster.com has quickly grown to become a trusted source within the mobile app development community. IdeaToAppster.com publishes news, articles and tips to help startups and entrepreneurs create and launch successful mobile apps. As a writer, you will be responsible for idea conception, research and publication of articles that help people better understand mobile apps and how to create success business from them. Writers must have a fundamental knowledge of the technology space and mobile apps, in addition to being able to write entertaining and informative prose that fits within the tone of IdeaToAppster.com. Writers will be compensated on a per-article basis at a very competitive rate.

Full-Stack Lead VR Engineer

Blue Label Labs is looking for a Full-Stack Lead Software Engineer.

What you’ll do:

  • Solve hard technical problems, including working with leading-edge VR hardware.
  • Mentor a junior engineering team and help the team grow
  • Deeply involved in technical planning & platform architecture.
  • Write production code for cloud, VR content creation UX, and/or realtime character deformations.
  • Work closely on product planning with the team and customers

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years significant engineering experience in in a senior/lead position (or equivalent).
  • Deep knowledge of modern programming languages and methodologies, including C++.
  • Strong desire to work in VR, with the courage to withstand the many unknowns in a brand-new field with a huge long-term market but uncertain short-term customer base & adoption rate.
  • Experience with hard UX problems, realtime game engines, and/or cloud.
  • Love of hard technical problems, and a proven history of not giving up or staying stuck.
  • Manages own schedule and milestones in the context of high-level direction.
  • Works well with others, including non-technical staff and customers, with a history of managing conflict in honest and healthy ways. Must be candid and honest (while being respectful) and have the courage to name the elephants in the room.
  • Background in entertainment (CG film, VFX, games), experience with Unreal 4, and/or previous VR experience is a big plus.

Program Manager

Blue Label Labs, a leading New York-based mobile app developer, is looking for a talented individual to join their team in the role of a Program Manager (PM). Blue Label Labs is an industry leader in designing and developing custom mobile apps with over 150 apps in its portfolio and a wide-range of capabilities that has seen us create products that span health and wellness, on-demand marketplaces, mobile gaming, IOT and VR/AR. As a Program Manager you are responsible for leading a product team of designers and engineers to bring our client’s ideas to life. As a PM you will be tasked with the day-to-day management and direction of client projects shepherding them through all phases of the engagement: from discovery and design through to development and testing and finally culminating in the deployment to one or more app stores.

The day-to-day responsibilities of a PM at Blue Label Labs include:

  • Managing all client communication and providing our clients with timely updates on the progress of their project along with answering any queries that may come up.
  • Working with the client, alongside a UX designer, to create a set of user stories to define the vision of the product in the form of wireframes.
  • Managing the budget for the project and ensuring that any issues are identified early, communicated to the client.
  • Creating clickable prototypes of proposed wireframes and designs using tools such as Invision.
  • Working with a UI designer to create and present design concepts based off wireframes and then helping the client choose the best one for their product.
  • Creating detailed functional specifications and screen flow maps to be used by the development team during production.
  • Managing the development process using Agile methodologies to define clear milestones and ensuring that the we deliver high-quality, polished builds to the client on-time.
  • Triaging bugs and incoming design changes and working with the development team on a daily basis to ensure that we build a product that exceeds the client’s expectations.
  • Shepherding the created product out of development and testing through final deployment to the app store including the creation of app store metadata, management of the app store approval process and finally deployment into the app store.

We are looking for detail-oriented PMs that have a passion for client service along with the following:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Established track record of client services work in digital products working alongside globally distributed teams.
  • 3-5 years experience leading software development projects using Agile methodologies (mobile experience is a plus)
  • Ability to work independently and manage their own work streams and that of their project teams to effectively meet deadlines.
  • Experience using tools such as Trello, Invision, Sketch and Photoshop, GitHub, XCode and Android Studio are a plus.
  • Comfortable working remotely.

Software Engineering

Blue Label Labs is currently looking for extremely smart and talented people to join our core team in New York City. The select individuals will be comfortable with designing and implementing mobile applications from beginning to production while working semi-autonomously.

If you’ve got the following skills we’d like to talk to you:

  • Proven software engineering talents in Objective-C, Android and/or .NET.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of mobile app architecture.
  • Clear communication in code and in writing.
  • Knowledge of iPhone, Android and Windows Phone mobile development platforms.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering, or 4+ year relevant work experience
  • Minor in Business Administration and/or Marketing, or 2+ years professional experience in Business and/or Product Managment
  • Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
  • Proficiency in, at least, one modern object-oriented language such as Objective C, Java, C++ or C#

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Proven ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
  • Experience in communicating with customers, technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs

We are still a small, agile team and as a developer you will have the ability to influence the design and development of nearly everything that we build. You will have to be very comfortable with ownership and management of your projects and can balance coding and product management. As such, an ideal candidate will have the potential to develop into an engineering leadership and management role over time as we grow.

UX and/or UI Designer

Blue Label Labs, a leading New York-based mobile app developer, is looking for a talented individual to join their team in the role of a UX and/or UI Designer. Blue Label Labs is an industry leader in designing and developing custom mobile apps with over 150 apps in its portfolio and a wide-range of capabilities that has seen us create products that span health and wellness, on-demand marketplaces, mobile gaming, IOT and VR/AR. As a UX/UI Designer you are responsible for creating the user experience and user interface that will bring our client’s ideas to life. As a UX and/or UI Designer you will be tasked with the producing all design resources of client projects: from user stories and wireframes through to final UI and icons, and finally culminating in supporting quality assurance testing and app store visual assets for deployment.

The day-to-day responsibilities of a UX/UI Designer at Blue Label Labs include:

  • Managing client and project team communication and providing our clients and the project team with timely updates on the progress of their deliverables along with answering any queries that may come up.
  • Working with the client, alongside a Program Manager, to create a set of user stories to define the vision of the product in the form of wireframes.
  • Creating clickable prototypes of proposed wireframes and designs using tools such as Invision.
  • Creating and presenting design concepts based off wireframes and then helping the client choose the best one for their product.
  • Producing final design resources, which shall take the form of a well-organized, layered Photoshop or Sketch file representing the final UI design of the product and shall be used by the engineering team in the development of the product.
  • Designing a logo and/or app icon for the product as necessary.
  • Working together with the client and Program Manager on publishing the product to various app stores by providing creative assets such as screenshots and ad creatives.
  • Supporting development and quality assurance testing as necessary to ensure that the developed product meets the goals and expectations of the original design.

We are looking for creative, product-oriented designers that have a passion for user experience design and client service along with the following:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Established track record of client services work in digital products working alongside globally distributed teams.
  • 3-5 years experience in user experience and/or user interface design (mobile experience is a plus)
  • Ability to work independently and manage their own work streams and that of their project teams to effectively meet deadlines.
  • Experience using tools such as Trello, Invision, Sketch and Photoshop.
  • Comfortable working remotely.
